A video of Morara Kebaso, a Bobasi MP hopeful, sharing how his wife bailed him out financially at the start of their relationship is trending on the internt amind their beef.

Speaking on the Obinna Show Live on September 11, Morara gave viewers a candid account of how his first Nairobi business was built entirely on his wife's savings and a lot of trial and error.

Speaking on the television talk show, Kebaso recalled that when he and his wife began their life together, he was renting a single room and earning money through online writing. His wife, he said, arrived and quietly assessed the situation before revealing, about a week or two into their marriage, that she had KSh 70,000 set aside in a savings account and was ready to put it to work.

How Morara Dairies Was Born

Kebaso said he wasted no time. He sat down with a pen and paper and analysed which businesses could realistically be started with that amount in their neighbourhood. The answer was milk. The couple identified a dairy supplier from Kinangop, purchased a freezer, and launched what they named Morara Dairies. Sales moved steadily, and with the business gaining momentum, the two decided to explore value addition.

Rather than hiring an expert, Kebaso turned to YouTube to learn how to make yoghurt. He sourced his ingredients from a shop along Kikorok Road, including yoghurt culture, aspartame, sugar, cornified starch and gelatin, then set about experimenting in his kitchen.

Three Attempts to Get It Right

The first batch came out as porridge. The second came close but fell short. By the third attempt, he had a smooth, well-set yoghurt that customers genuinely enjoyed. Word spread in the neighbourhood, and people began appreciating both the taste and the consistency of the product.

Kebaso shared the story in a lighthearted, reflective tone, drawing laughter and admiration from the studio audience.
