A devastated mother in Lugari Sub-County, western Kenya, has gone public to demand justice after an Officer Commanding Station (OCS) based in Lumakanda allegedly defiled her minor daughter, with the suspect reportedly attempting to buy the family's silence.
The mother, interviewed outdoors near the offices of the Deputy County Commissioner for Lugari Sub-County, broke down as she recounted what her daughter told her about the alleged assault on September 29.
How the Family Says the Incident Unfolded
According to the mother, the suspect reached into his pocket and produced KSh 20,000, which he handed directly to her daughter. He then allegedly told the girl that they should keep the matter between themselves and say nothing to anyone. The daughter accepted the cash and, at the suspect's instruction, handed over her phone. The officer reportedly took the phone, sat down, and eventually left with it.
Once he was gone, the girl retrieved her phone and immediately called her father to relay what had taken place. Her father then contacted other family members, and a group gathered to hear the account firsthand.
Mother Pleads with Government to Act
Speaking to the camera, the mother made a direct plea to the Kenyan government. "Serikali munisaidie," she said, urging authorities to intervene. She warned that if the suspect faced no consequences, he would continue preying on other children.
She expressed deep anguish over the uncertainty surrounding her daughter's health, saying she did not yet know whether the girl was pregnant or had contracted any illness as a result of the alleged assault. Her most pressing concern was that justice be served before another family suffered the same fate.
The mother also noted that the suspect carries a sword, a pistol and a rungu, details she appeared to raise as a caution to those who might confront him or to underscore her fear of retaliation.
