Kenyan comedian and content creator Crazy Kennar turned a formal conference moment into a viral memory on August 25 when he stepped up to a microphone, addressed Rwandan President Paul Kagame directly, and walked away with a selfie.

The exchange, captured in a video circulating by Eastleigh Voice unfolded at an indoor event set against a backdrop of flags and official branding.

Crazy Kennar, whose main work involves entertaining audiences by reflecting everyday social observations back at them, had clearly come prepared with more than a question.

What Crazy Kennar Said to President Kagame

Rather than posing a formal question, Crazy Kennar introduced himself and spoke warmly about his experience researching Rwandan culture. He told the president that during a visit to Kigali, he had walked around the city asking residents how they felt about their leader, and that many had told him,

"We see our president as our father."

He admitted he initially dismissed that as an exaggeration, but said witnessing Kagame personally follow up on issues raised at the very same event convinced him it was genuine.

"Your people really love you as you are," he told the president, drawing laughter from the audience.

Crazy Kennar then invoked a piece of wisdom from his own father, saying the elder had always told him to believe that content can take people places. Using that line as his pitch, he asked Kagame directly for a selfie, telling him he wanted to go home and show his father proof that the work had paid off. He even offered Kagame two copies of the photo.

Kagame Obliges the Kenyan Comedian

The president, clearly amused, agreed. The exchange ended with laughter, a confirmed selfie, and a moment that felt entirely at odds with the stiff formality usually associated with heads of state at official events.

Crazy Kennar's willingness to ditch convention and speak from the heart at a high-profile event is precisely the kind of content that has built his following, and his father's advice, it seems, held up.
